Everest Base Camp Trek

After the arrival in Nepal, the company member will pick up you from Tribhuvan international airport and drop into hotel. The Everest base camp trekking guide will meet you and give briefings about the trek. We will have a welcome dinner in a cultural restaurant in the evening.

Overnight in luxury hotel Kathmandu

Flight to Lukla occurs either from Kathmandu or Ramechap. The flight from Kathmandu occurs during off season (late November to early March and late May to early September). In peak season, the flight occurs from Ramechap due to high traffic. The flight time is 10 minutes faster from Ramechap than Kathmandu. But we should wake up early in the morning (1: 00 am), and drive to Manthali airport.

Kathmandu to Manthali airport distance: 132 km, Driving time: four hours

After departing Lukla, we will have some food and start our trekking towards Phadking. The trekking route to Phakding is easy and covers short distances: 8 km. It is warm up trek where we experience easy trial passing through the bank of Dudhkoshi.

Lukla to Phakding distance: 8 km

Phakding to Namche trek is relatively more difficult than Lukla to Phakding. We should cover more uphills along the pine trial. We will enter Sagarmatha national park, take our permits in Monjo village. The forest trial, villages and suspension bridges are major landmarks of Namche trekking route. Namche is the most developed village of Everest region.

Phakding to Namche distance: 9.4 km

After having breakfast, we will trek to Namche viewpoint. The panoramic view of Mount Everest, Thamserkhu, Kusum Khangaru, Ama Dablam and many more peaks of Mahalangur range are amazing to capture. We will gain altitude and return to lower elevation to acclimatize our body.

Trekking distance from Namche to Khumjung: 3 km

After having breakfast, we will start trekking to Tengboche. The panoramic view of mountains makes the trek more entertaining. Trekking route to Tengboche is comparatively easier than Namche trek. The Tengboche monastery is a historical monastery reflecting buddhism.

Namche to Tengboche distance: 10 km

Trekking to Dingboche is relatively challenging than trek to Tengboche. We should trek slowly with gaining altitude. Dingboche temperature remains lower in night so we should be very careful and stay warm.

After having breakfast we will hike to Nagrjuna peak to gain altitude and return Dingboche. It helps in acclimtization. We will get the mind blowing view of mountains from Nagarjuna peak.

Hiking duration: 3 hours

After having breakfast, we will start trekking to Lobuche. It is four-to-five-hour hiking in higher elevation where we should walk slowly to prevent headache. The amazing view of Mount Pumori, Lhotse, Pyramid are the attractions of Lubuche peak.

We will trek to Gorekshep as soon as we finish breakfast. The rocky trial, snow capped peaks, and alpine pastures are major natural aspects on the route to Gorekshep. We will have our lunch in Gorekshep and start the trek to Everest base camp. It takes around two hours to reach the base of the highest peak in the world.  We have to walk over Khumbu glacier to reach the base camp. The amazing mountain peaks and maraines are grest we explore. We cannot see a clear view of Mount Everest from its base camp. For that we must climb Kalapatthar. After spending certain time in base camp, we will return to Gorekshep.

Lobuche to Gorekshep distance: 4.5 km

Hike to Kalapatthar is optional. We should wake up early in the morning and walk to the kalapatthar for sunrise view on Mount Everest. Capturing the stunning view of snow capped peaks, we will return to Gorekshep and trek down to Pheriche.

We can cover longer distances while returning. Trekking down to Namche followed by Somare, Pangboche and Tengboche. We can celebrate the best journey to Everest base camp in Namche, as we can get all facilities there.

Trekking to Lukla from Namche covered the longest distance of the trek. We will walk to Phakding and have lunch. After having rest for some time we will continue to walk to Lukla for the last night in Everest trek. We can enjoy and celebrate the completion of trek in Lukla.

We will take flights to Kathmandu or Ramechap based on availability. After landing at Manthali airport we will drive back to Kathmandu and do last-minute shopping in Thamel. In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner in a cultural restaurant.

Note: If the flight is cancelled, we must wait until good weather. Sometimes we may have to wait for one or two days. Therefore, you should have buffer days while planning the trek.

Based on the time of your international flight the company member will drop you at the airport.
